Cuddling up with friends and family with a cup of hot cocoa in a warm blanket, watching a classic Christmas movie is one of those fun holiday activities that almost everyone loves. Celebrate the holidays together by cozying up by the fireplace and watching some good Christmas movies. Here are some fun classic family movies and their descriptions for all ages and all your wintertime wishes that you will just love:
Home Alone: After Kevin McCallister acts out the night before the family Christmas trip to Paris, Kevin’s mother makes him sleep in the attic. In the rush of the huge family preparing before the flight, Kevin was forgotten and accidentally left at home. Kevin wakes up to an empty house, and the crazy story unfolds!
A Charlie Brown Christmas: As usual Charlie Brown has the Christmas blues. To get in the spirit he takes Lucy’s advice and directs the Christmas play. Charlie Brown learns the true meaning of Christmas.
Miracle on 34th street: in this classic movie the Christmas hopes of a young girl were never really there. She lives with her single mother who taught her that Santa wasn't real from the beginning of her life. They get stuck finding that Santa is real, and helps save Christmas!
A Christmas Story: this fun movie is about Ralphie Parker, who spends most of his time dodging a bully, and wishing for a “Red Ryder air rifle.” Ralphie has a hard time keeping his glasses and hopes intact.
The Polar Express: When a young boy having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he starts a journey of self-discovery that shows him how wonderful believing is.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (animated, 1996)(real life 2002): this movie of one of Dr. Seuss books is about when the terrible green Grinch decides he’s going to steal Christmas from the Whos. When he sneaks down from his cave on the mountaintop he finds a snag in his plan when he meets sweet little Cindy Lou Who.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Just like the iconic Christmas song, this tells the story of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, and a troubled elf who doesn't seem to fit in with the others, and the two misfits travel together to find others like them!
Frosty the Snowman: Also like the classic Christmas song, this is about how a bunch of kids bring a happy snowman to life, and adventure with him around the streets!
A Christmas Carol: The miserable Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three ghosts, and taught the true meanings of Christmas
Elf: Buddy as accidentally transported to the north pole in Santa's gift bag, and raised to adulthood in the north pole thinking he’s an elf. When he finds that he doesn't fit in, he travels to new york to meet his real father, and reconnect. After DNA tests prove that buddy is his son, critical businessman Walter Hobbs reluctantly starts a relationship with his son, and the chaos begins.
