Netflix, the application that we have all spent tons of money and time on. It's the reason that you don't want to get a job. I love Netflix and I'm sure all of you do as well. If you don't know what Netflix is, then I'll catch you up.

Netflix is an application that you can get on your T.V., gaming console, and smartphone. It lets you watch plenty of movies and shows from a huge variety, but it does have a cost. It’s eight dollars a month, which doesn't seem like much until you realize how long you've had it. My family, for example, has had Netflix for over two years. In the long run, it's a lot of money. However, I believe it is worth it if you spend the right amount of time on it. If you only use it for one movie a month than it’s probably not worth the $8 a month, but if you love watching movies and shows and you do it often then it's definitely worth it. Netflix has a lot going for it. They have their own shows and movies found only on the application, along with some of the top-of-the-line actors in their films. Netflix also has many films for you to choose from. They have almost 1600 shows and around 4000 movies.

There are so many options for you to choose from. They range from Japanese animation to live action. One of my personal favorites is the Ultimate Beastmaster, which is a show where competitors from all around the globe come to compete on multiple obstacle courses to see which nation is the best. There are casters for each language and cool actors for each cast. My favorite is Terry Crews, an actor who’s been in many great films. Scary Movie 5 is my favorite. Because of all of these amazing perks, Netflix has a net worth of over three billion dollars..

However, even though they are so successful, they have competition: Hulu, another app just like Netflix. Hulu and Netflix have the same cost of eight dollars a month. The main difference between these two is the shows they have. Hulu has some big shows that Netflix doesn't, like Rick and Morty and Naruto Shippuden. Netflix has some that Hulu doesn't as well, such as the “Netflix Originals”. I feel like Hulu has more “childish” shows and that Netflix has older films. I just watched Deep Blue Sea (on Netflix), which is a movie about 3 mutant sharks that are intelligent and go around killing this crew that got trapped. It came out in 1999. I also see other older movies, such as Jurassic Park and Sharknado, on Netflix. Netflix is a lot more successful, which I think is because of the Netflix originals and that it came before Hulu.

However, Netflix is addicting. It's like a drug; when you finish an episode of a show, there is just too much temptation to hit the “next episode” button. You do it again, and again, and again, until it’s the next day and you suddenly have finished your show. What's next? Another show. Next thing you know, your grades are all F’s. And what do you do to fix them? Nothing; you keep watching shows to drown your sorrows away and it doesn’t work. So limit yourself if you are going to get Netflix to maybe two episodes a day or one movie a day.
