Amber Neville - Staff Writer
Books are like little worlds wrapped in the sharp smell of ink and the rough texture of paper. They can lead you to sitting on the edge of your seat, or wide awake at midnight reading because you need to know what’s happens in the end of the story. There are different novels for practically any genre: horror, fantasy, historical fiction, autobiography, and so many more!
In some books, the author is so good at writing that you can honestly feel the emotions the main character is feeling. The writing can transport you into the world of the story, so that you don’t notice reality around you.

Some books and book series that I’ve read (mainly fantasy and science fiction) that are amazing are the Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, City Of Bones series by Cassandra Clare, Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater, the Michael Vey series by Richard Paul Evans, Maximum Ride Manga series by NaRae Lee and James Patterson, the Theodore Boone series by John Grisham, Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children novel and graphic novel by Ransom Riggs and Cassandra Jean,The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
I asked one of Lone Peak’s juniors, Sydney Boren, what her favorite book is and why. She replied “The Book Thief. It was beautifully written and it was narrated in an extremely unique way, I mean, it is narrated by Death himself! The imagery is amazing! It was the first book that ever made me cry. Not just a tear, I was full-out sobbing, and I hardly ever cry. I was actually emotionally invested in the characters and their stories, and that's what makes a book truly amazing.”
Books are little pieces of sweetness in life, unless you don’t like reading. Books can be inspiring and entertaining, while also enlarging your curiosity and vocabulary at the same time. They can help you think “outside of the box” sometimes. Creative problem solving is a wonderful thing to have in life, and I hope that everyone has some creative thinking in their brains for when reality gets a little rough.
