Love is in the air! Or maybe that’s just the Autumn leaves blowing around. Either way, it’s time to start making your plans based off the fall season. Making those plans include coming up with good dates to make yourself seem more fun and exciting to the person you’re taking out. Sometimes people are boring, though, and can’t think of fun things to do, so if you’re one of those people, here’s a few ideas and why to do them.
You could always go with the classic haunted house. People seem to think that walking through a building, actors popping out and trying to get a good scream out of you, is romantic. If you aren’t scared easily, this is probably a good option for you. If you have a low tolerance for jump scares, maybe try another option, as it might be a little harder to impress your date with tears streaming down your face. Maybe there’s something about two people being scared of the same thing that brings them together.
If screaming for an hour straight isn’t quite your style, go visit a pumpkin patch. Pick out a couple pumpkins to take home and carve. This works best if you really take your time picking out the perfect pumpkins. Also, don’t be lame and just get pumpkins from walmart, go to an actual pumpkin patch, it’s more exciting and it shows you care. When you get home, sit on opposite sides of the table so you can’t see what each other are carving. Remember, you can tell a lot about a person based on how they carve their pumpkin, so choose wisely. For extra points with your date, cook up the pumpkin seeds while you’re carving for a good snack afterwards.
For a more chill and relaxing date, go grab those pumpkin spice drinks everyone likes, hop in your car, and go for a drive through the canyon. Everyone is doing it, so it must be fun. Make sure to let your date run the music. You’ll be able to really get to know them through the music they listen to, and if their music is awful, then that will be the last date they’ll get with you. A canyon drive will provide you with beautiful scenery, therefore making the event very romantic. If your date is up for it, stop and take pictures together. You’ll have the beautiful background, so why not? Only do this if the weather permits it, you don’t want your date wet and cold, as I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be either.
Bringing back the idea of connecting over being scared, you could also stay in and watch a scary movie together. It’s both comfortable and convenient, as well as less scary than the haunted house idea. Who doesn’t love a good scary movie? Go into it with a few movies in mind, then let your date pick from those movies. That way you’re both watching a movie you’re pleased with. Don’t forget about the snacks, though. Get some hot apple cider, some chocolate and popcorn, maybe even those pumpkin seeds mentioned from before. With this setup, you’re bound to have a good time on this date.
These are just a few ideas to make you look like you’re the best to go on dates with. Really, it all comes down to personality. Don’t be shy and nervous, just have fun and they’ll have fun too. There are so many fun opportunities in fall, take advantage of them! Also, we at The Crusader are in no way responsible for the outcome of these dates.
