Pumpkin spice and everything nice! My favorite part about the fall mood is my craving for all treats labeled with “pumpkin.” The month October alone is its own pumpkin advertisement, ranging from candy shaped pumpkins to costumes! I’m not talking about pumpkin carving, but pumpkin baking recipes displayed all over social media and our bakeries.
You can’t have an review about ‘Pumpkin Recipes’ without the all time famous “Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.” A simple treat that will have you eating it all day long!
If you make it right, the dough is so soft and fluffy! I’m not a fan of hard cookies, but these definitely rank up to “Soft as a Pillow.” Chocolate chips often melt in the dough in the oven, creating wonderful warm spots of oozing cocoa in your first bite. Rate on this delectable, 10/10. For all you home cookers, the recipe for this is- ‘ 1 cup of canned pumpkin, 1 egg, 2 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp of baking soda, 2 cups of chocolate chips, 1 ½ tsp of cinnamon, 2 cups of flour, ½ tsp of salt, 1 tbsp of vanilla, 1 cup of white sugar, ½ cup of vegetable oil and 1 tsp of milk. Directions; Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla and egg in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir into the wet ingredients. Add flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture and mix well. Stir for until combined. Add chocolate chips and stir until combined. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop cookies on by the spoonful about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out of the treat clean.’ - A family recipe.
Pumpkin Pie. Of course I have to review this, it’s the best of all pies! One thing I love about this pie is the squishy pumpkin filling. It tastes so fall-like, with a touch of spice. The crust can be anything you want; crumbled, pressed, whatever your stomach desires! Don’t forget to add the cool whipped cream to the top; cooling the rather dominant spice flavor.
