First Man: Director Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) and Ryan Gosling reunite for First Man, the true story of astronaut Neil Armstrong, first man on the moon. This movie tells the story of the lead-up to the famed Apollo 11 lunar launch. Initial reviews are promising for this somber, thoughtful biopic.

Beautiful Boy: Based on two memoirs from real-life father and son David and Nick Sheff, this film shows the effects substance abuse can have on a person and the ones they love. Steve Carell takes on a more serious role than usual, starring alongside the breakout star of last year’s Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name, Timothée Chalamet. Bring your tissues.
