With Winter season upon us, it can be hard to find things to do. It can be even harder to find good dates to go on. You don’t want to plan something that will disappoint your date. If you’re struggling to figure something out, we’ve got a few ideas you could try out.

If you want to play it safe, go to Sundance and get some hot chocolate. You can’t be too sure if your date likes being out in the cold snow, so doing this will prevent any disappointment from happening. You’ll get to go for a nice little drive up Provo canyon, with beautiful views, as well as treat yourselves to a nice drink to keep everyone warm while making the long trek in the cold back to the car. You could always just get the apple cider somewhere else, or just make it at home, but then you are making yourself seem boring and cheap. Plus, word has it Sundance has really good hot chocolate.

You could always go the cliche route, and take your date ice skating. If everyone’s doing it, that must mean it’s at least somewhat fun. There’s a few you could go to, just pick one. You’re almost guaranteed to not be the only couple there. Plus, if your date isn’t good at skating, it’s perfect because what else are they going to grab onto to brace themselves other than you? On the other hand, if you’re not the best at balance, maybe go a different direction than skating so you don’t embarrass yourself in front of your date and everyone else.

If you’re in the mood to walk around in the cold, there’s the Temple Square lights in Salt Lake City. You can walk around holding hands and it will be all romantic. To make it even better, it’s free. You don’t have spend anything to make your date fall in love with you. It is definitely going to be extremely crowded no matter what night you go, so expect to see at least twelve other couples from Lone Peak alone. Depending on how fast you guys walk through the lights, City Creek Center is right across the street, so you could go check out some of the shops there afterward.

With the cold weather, maybe you’ll want to just cuddle up and watch a festive movie. Get the hot cocoa and marshmallows ready, because nothing is better than being nice and cozy with a hot drink in hand. If you can’t decide on a good holiday movie, it’s been said that Hallmark has good holiday flicks that don’t all have the same exact storyline as each other at all. If you want a good recommendation, go with “A Christmas Story”. It’s a classic and everyone loves it. If your date doesn’t like it, then why are you even dating them.

If you’re not one for relaxing and staying warm, take your date and go outside. Go sledding or build a snowman. Just have a good time in the snow. Try building an igloo that won’t collapse on itself. You will definitely have to actually want to be outside, or this will be a miserable option for you. Bring a dog out with you guys and this is a scene straight out of one of those Hallmark movies mentioned earlier, just not slow-motion and with no background music.

There are so many options of things to do with a date in Winter, I’m sure your date will love anything you decide to do, as long as you don’t complain about the cold to them like a child. Stay warm and enjoy the Winter season!
